The Gentile/Greek Christians are in debt to the Jewish community that does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Because of their unbelief, the Gentiles/Greeks have the time and opportunity to accept the grace and forgiveness of God.
The Gentile/Greek converts are not superior to the Jewish people. As stated earlier in the chapter, God did not reject his people. They did not stumble so as to be beyond the grace and mercy of God. The Gentile/Greek Christians, instead of being superior to the Jewish community, are actually in their debt.
God’s promises to the Jewish people stand. The Gentiles/Greeks are allowed to share in those promises through Christ. All receive God's mercy.
