Romans chapter 12 is one of my most favorite chapters in the Bible! We’ll look at the chapter more closely the next two Sundays and so we’ll have a couple of more blogs on it as well. Today, I lift up the phrase in verse 5: ‘each member belongs to all the others.’
In a culture that teaches us to be independent…in a culture that stresses individuality, Paul’s words remind us that we who profess Christ are joined together into one body. No member is more or less significant. No member is able to act on its own without taking the rest of the body with it. We belong to each other. We count on each other. We need each other.
